The role is remote with fortnightly visits to our Capenhurst office (CH1 6ES) and to other locations as required.
About the role:
To develop robust, scalable software solutions across the whole stack supporting the Innovation Delivery team’s customers and to deal with DevOps tasks such as deployment and monitoring.
In the Innovation Delivery Team, we develop software products that enable our clients to break new ground in how they operate electricity networks. We help our clients to streamline how they plan and connect low carbon technology to their networks to enable them to supply their customers highest quality service possible.
Your aim will be to help them and us achieve our goals of lowering carbon emissions and moving towards a net zero carbon future.
- Delivering quality, scalable software including UIs at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Participate in the day-to-day Agile aspects of projects (stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Ensure all software meets our coding standards and participate in code reviews
- Identifying innovative solutions to challenges identified
- Doing what’s needed to deliver great service to our clients
What we’ll need from you:
- Full stack development (C#, .net, SQL, Postgres, Javascript, Typescript, React) or front/back end specialism with some experience of the rest of the stack
- Experience with consuming and interacting with APIs
- Great attention to detail and emphasis on producing quality user experiences
- Strong experience with data platforms, handling and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of security standards in data handling
- Experience with writing and maintaining unit tests
- UI development in Typescript and Javascript using React and related technologies
- UI/UX design and best practice including accessibility and mobile
- Design Patterns, OO and SOLID Design Principles, along with Quality Standards
- Take responsibility for assigned tasks
- Agile SCRUM experienced
- Understanding of source control systems, branching and release methodologies
- Azure experience preferential: continuous integration and improvement, Azure functions, pipelines, DevOps and testing

- Up to £65,000 basic salary p.a.
- Company performance bonus
- 25 days’ holiday + stats + 1 day extra after every 3 completed years, to a max of 30
