Senior Software Engineer Java

World-ClassTechnology Company founded in Edinburgh are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer, with goodexperience using Javato join one of their business critical squads.Hybrid working, modern tech and great culture on offer.

They've been operating for well-over ten years and are one of the market leaders within their field -they're going through a period of growth as they're scaling up several of their squads, so are in a great place.

You would be joining a squad that work on a product that is crucial for the day-to-day running of the business. This is a verification product that is used throughout all their services and has millions of requests daily.

They're an Agile squad of roughly seven largely consisting of front-end and mobile Engineers, you will be the first back-end Engineer within this team and they're looking for someone that would feel comfortable being the specialist in this area. They're also hoping that in time, you would be able to help mentor some of the front-end Engineers transition to more Full-Stack.

You'll be actively working with Java (Spring),AWS,Microservices and Docker, amongst a few other technologies. You'd be tasked to improve the performance and quality of this product, and you'll be able to suggest and implement technologies you feel would help take it to the next level. The organisation are very big on knowledge sharing here, so you'll be able to gain skills and experience from other teams to help aid a lot of these improvements (i.e DevOps / SRE ).

You'll ideally have good experience with the following;

** Java8+

** Java Frameworks (ideally Spring / Springboot)

** Working with cloud services (AWS, GCP or Azure)

** DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes or Terraforms)

The following experience is highly desirable;

** Working with Distributed Systems

** Working on high-trafficking products

They've got custom-built offices in central Edinburgh, which includes pool tables, games consoles, even their own Gym and much more. They do support hybrid working here and would hope people can work in the office ideally once a week, but they do have some flex on this for this team.

In return they're able to offer a salary from £60k to £73k and a really strong benefits package to match; which includes multiple bonuses and uncapped holidays.
