We are looking to hire a Senior Software Test Analystto join The Caroola Group on a 6 month fixed-term contract!

The Senior Tester is an integral part of the development team and is responsible for all testing required for the team to undertake its pivotal role within the business. You are a strong team player with an aptitude for finding problems where others would not think to look. The tester will understand how our suite of internal and external systems fit and integrate. As our senior tester you will be responsible for all things testing with a customer focus, passion for what you do and eager to learn. You will be a confident communicator with a solution focused attitude to work.

  • This role is confirmed as outside of IR35
  • Length of Contract - 6 Months + Immediate Start Available
  • Remote or Hybrid working available

Responsibilities:

  • Create and own the test strategy for the Caroola ecosystem.
  • Ensure a high standard is maintained across the applications that are built.
  • Work with Head of Development and IT Operational Management team to support, develop and gather reports to meet and exceed deliverable targets and quality metrics.
  • Working as part of the Development Team to ensure quality of existing and new systems and helping to resolve issues quickly.
  • Writing, reviewing, and updating product test plans/scripts, test cases, user stories and scenarios.
  • Analyse business processes and implement automated solutions where necessary to improve throughput and reduce manual operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the test process and understand business practices that ensure good quality software.
  • Execution of test plans and test cases to ensure that software meets specified standards, development specifications, and business requirements.
  • Effective defect logging and tracking status through a resolution system.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and development models (Agile, V-Model, Waterfall)

Skills & Experience:

  • The ability to interpret user stories effectively.
  • Experience creating, communicating, and actioning test strategies.
  • Knowledge of test design, test execution and defect report creation.
  • Experience scoping, planning, and implementing manual test plans.
  • Technology awareness and experience (Microsoft Architecture, Cloud Computing, Web, Virtualization, Unix)
  • Highly competent in Atlassian Confluence and JIRATM (online documentation, Dashboard creation)
  • Strong test industry test tool knowledge, standards, and methodologies (5 years minimum).
  • Finance or Payroll experience (Highly desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of API’s and Integration Services
  • Experience of working within a development team and wider business (5 years minimum).
  • Automated Software Testing - Knowledge and understanding of Test Automation Tooling
  • A methodical and analytical thinker.

  • Good team worker and able to work effectively with other developers, tester, Architects, BAs.
