Your next role

We are seeking an experienced property solicitor who has extensive knowledge and practical experience in broad range of property matters including commercial conveyancing, drafting leases, Finance Agreements, Options Agreement, Pre-emptions Agreements, Wayleaves, Easements and all documentation relating to commercial conveyancing. This may be gained within the private or public sector.

As a Senior Property Solicitor you will be advising on commercial property law issues and on property related matters on major regeneration projects and assisting the Council to make informed decisions on the benefits and risks of projects so that they can deliver on their vision of a re-vitalised Swindon by 2030.

The role will involve handling a varied caseload of complex property matters, as well as providing legal advice and support to clients, committees, members and senior officers. You will also support and mentor less experienced colleagues including legal assistants and trainees within the department.

The legal department are committed to innovation and the progression of the team and each employee. The department is operating a hybrid first approach to flexible working, meaning that the majority of the team are working in a hybrid way, working within the office or other locations to meet the needs to the role including attending hearings, committee and client meetings are required, however the successful candidate will be required to attend the Offices on Wednesday each week.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
