Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village (Managed by Legacy Hotels and Resorts Limited) have a rare opportunity for a Senior Sous Chef to join our high calibre team in a well-established global brand.

You can show your creative flare as you work alongside the head chef to create brand-new menus working within a very high spec kitchen with a Jospa grill.

Role Overview

To cook all dishes on menus and assist the Head Chef in all culinary aspects ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and demonstrate high customer care within the team to meet the service requirements of the hotel
  • Oversee the physical food stock take to ensure efficient cost control
  • Manage stock ordering to ensure maximum profit with minimum waste
  • Assist the Head Chef in producing department budgets in line with main hotel budget
  • Comply with department manning budget
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of all kitchen staff in order to ensure a high motivated and efficient team
  • Comply with legal requirements and carry out statutory training for all team members and to train and develop all levels of chef within your department
  • Comply with all food regulations as laid out in the ‘Food Safety Policy’
  • Assist Head Chef with the creation and implementation of all menus in line with Company cost constraints
  • Monitor staff to ensure that they comply with all regulations relating to Health and Safety, employee’s code of conduct, wearing of protective clothing, fire precautions and emergency procedures and high standards of personal hygiene
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by Management
  • Comply with all legal requirements in respect of health, safety and welfare of all members of staff and customers
  • All staff of the company are required to make themselves available for training and communication meetings, for which advance notice will normally be given
  • All staff must attend fire training as required by law to be familiar with the departmental responsibilities

Salary: Up to £35,000.00 per year
