Senior Stores Person

Our client, a market leader within the Defence Maritime industry is looking for a Senior Stores Person to join the team!

As the Senior Stores Person, your main role involves managing the daily operations of stores and overseeing goods inspection activities to ensure seamless functioning and outstanding service delivery. Leading a team, you will set the standard, offering guidance and assistance to support your team member while prioritising operational efficiency and maintaining company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overlook stores operations
- Receive goods, inspection, dispatch, pick and pack
- Ensure Helath and Safety legislation is adhered to.
- Load and unload deliveries manually or by FLT and cranes.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Receive stock and paperwork from suppliers, enter data into the relevant Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Check paperwork receipts ensuring they comply with Certificate of Conformity requirements.
- Stock preperation
- Manage, lead and coach stores team members
- Train new starters and review their progress on a regular basis
- Oversee Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)
Requirements:
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation
- Stores experience
- Leadership/management experience, able to motivate others
- Promote and encourage teamwork
- Work off own inititave
- Verbal and written communication
- Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel experience
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. IFS)
- Knowledge of Quality Systems
- Awareness of ESD
Desirable:
- FLT/Reach truck qualified.
