Working in the Strategic Planning and Transportation team, you will support the Strategic Planning and Transportation Manager in the delivery of the Strategic Planning Function. You will play an active role in implementing, monitoring and reviewing the statutory development plan in accordance with the Planning Acts and related legislation. You will also support the Council's policy objectives by assisting with: providing Planning Policy observations to internal and external stakeholders; formulating Planning Policy (including Supplementary Planning Guidance); progressing the development plan's evidence base; and, negotiating, co-ordinating and monitoring s106 legal agreements.

We are looking for a candidate who holds a degree or post graduate qualification in Planning (or appropriate related field) and is either a Chartered Member or eligible for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).This is wide-ranging and multi-disciplinary role for which the successful candidate will be involved in development and analysis of Planning Policy.

The candidate must have experience of Planning Policy development and implementation together with good working knowledge of planning legislation, the Local Development Plan process and regional/sub-regional planning matters.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
