2H Offshore are looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer on a full time permanent basis, based in Woking, UK. The Senior Structural Engineer with particular experience in Offshore Structural Engineering is wanted to join the team in one of our European offices to lead, further develop and undertake engineering and design activities for our Renewables and Oil and Gas offshore structures and ancillaries business.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take responsibility for performing and supervising the design and analysis of offshore structures considering construction, installation and in-service loading. You will be expected to use appropriate tools and to design, size, and verify the performance of structures and components. You will work both independently and within a multi-discipline team to solve engineering problems and to deliver quality in your engineering and reporting. Your role will include communication of the design solutions towards clients, third-party suppliers and contractors and mentoring team members by actively sharing your expertise and experience
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5-8 years' experience in structural design and analysis, preferably in the offshore O&G or Renewables industry
- Degree level educated with a Bachelors or Masters degree in structural or civil engineering or similar field, with a 2.1 or above
- Chartered status (or evidence of progression towards this)
- Knowledge of material inspection, welding, NDT, coating and corrosion protection for subsea structures
- Experience with structural analysis tools - preferably including SACS (including fatigue and pile-soil interaction modules)
- Managing and resolving interfaces between engineering disciplines (for example Geotechnical, Facilities, Operations)
- Experience of designing for the full life-cycle of an offshore structure including transportation, lifting, and in-service conditions - i.e. ULS, ALS, SLS, and FLS
- Knowledge of offshore Structural Engineering codes such as API, DNVGL, ISO, or other international codes
- Proficiency in writing technical reports and presentations
