Our clients have a requirement for a Senior Engineer who has experience in Structural Steel Systems / Scaffold / Formwork / Falsework or Non-mechanical construction equipment. Candidates will need to have knowledge of the construction industry and the ability to communicate at all levels.
Ideally you will have experience in structural steel or aluminium systems, non-mechanical construction equipment, a knowledge of the construction industry, commercial awareness and an ability to communicate at all levels. Working with a small team you will be required to take control of technical and compliance issues relating to our portfolio of products, regulate the development of new products within our product development framework, undertake, oversee and technically control project designs. You will be expected to keep up to date with British and EN standards and industry requirements, control in-house technical specifications for products, liaise with group companies, suppliers, clients and checking authorities.
Occasional travel will be required for attendance at group conferences, meetings with suppliers or clients and site visits which may be in the UK or overseas. An ability to travel is therefore essential.
You will be ambitious, have strong organisational skills and an ability to recognise and work to deadlines. Ideally you will have membership of a professional institution, Structural or Civils with CEng status or similar. However, candidates with exceptional experience will also be considered.
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
Main Duties:
- Direct and advise and manage a small team of technicians
- Deal with technical enquiries from internal and external customers
- Design, analyses and verification of products
- Design and analyses of project installations
- Preparing/organising production drawings and technical data
- Preparing structural calculations
- Liaise with suppliers regarding technical matters and product development
- Arrange testing of products where necessary
- Liaise with Group and external consultants where necessary
- Technical presentations
Requirements:
- CEng status of a relevant Institution
- BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Office 365
- AutoCAD
- Structural analyses software
- Practical knowledge of construction, scaffolding and temporary works
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to recognise and work to deadlines
- Ability to delegate and manage a small team
The Engineering department produces product manufacturing drawings in 2D&3D, project site application drawings and detailed structural calculations for both products and projects. The department also produces technical details, 3D animations, marketing literature and web content. It also provides technical support for sales, customers and checking authorities. We operate a flat structure.
