Senior Sub-Contract Buyer

Butler Ross are recruiting for a Senior Sub-Contract Buyer to join leading public sector organisation based in Hemel Hempstead with travel around the London area. They are looking for a well established sub-contract buyer to join the team and lead multiple projects and make a real difference to both new and existing projects.

This person will work closely with the operational team and is a brand-new role within the business. They are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, able to work calmly under pressure and has excellent commercial acumen in the public sector.

Duties of the Senior Sub-Contract Buyer

• Building from an existing sub-contract buying plan to improve and implement best in practice buying plan. This will involve sub-contractors information, trade, quotes and various other relevant information.
• Ensuing a consistent and logical approach to sub-contract buying across various projects.
• Supporting the tendering process and making pricing recommendations.
• Working towards building a new a new procurement programme and ensure this his upheld at all levels.
• Ensure strong supplier relationships and making sure these relationships are developed over time.

Experience Required for the Senior Sub-Contract Buyer

• Experienced procurement professional with experience in the public sector with experience in refurbishments.
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset who is always looking to improve the status quo.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to make informed decision quickly.
• UK Driving License with the ability to travel around the London area for various projects.

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000

Location: Hemel Hempstead with travel around the London area.

This role would be well suited to a senior buyer, sub-contract buyer, category manager, procurement manager, purchasing manager, purchasing officer, procurement officer, or sub-contract manager.
