The role
As a Senior Submarine Repair Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary
Day to day, you'll have the opportunity to support the process of capturing and reviewing user requirements, in order to inform the major infrastructure design process and provide general support through the input of submarine maintenance experience and knowledge. As well as:
- Support and deliver the day-to-day activities of the major infrastructure projects User Acceptance Group (UAG).
- Assure that future ASTUTE class facility designs, and safety cases are developed with full cognisance of, and compliance with, the functional user requirements, by providing steerage and close guidance to the design, safety and project engineers with respect to their area of submarine maintenance specialisation.
- Review and advise on user level acceptance of derived facility design, technical and safety substantiations via design review attendance and documentation verification.
- Support the derivation and management of functional user requirements, by providing expert submarine maintenance advice for their areas of specialisation.
- Provide operations and requirements input as a member of the DRDL acceptance authority for future facilities.
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements
Essential experience of the Senior Submarine Repair Specialist:
- Extensive experience in nuclear submarine operations and maintenance and or nuclear facility upkeep.
- Experience and knowledge of the ASTUTE class submarine - Desirable
- Nuclear submarine Cat A Watchkeeper, preferably with PWR2 experience
- Production managers and zone managers with recognisable experience in DMPs, RAMPs, BMPs and LTBs.
- Facility and plant management roles in a nuclear infrastructure facility.
- Submarine engineers with refit and deep maintenance experience.
- Submarine or facility commissioning experience.

Please note that this position is subject to national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
