Job Title:Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Crewe, Cheshire

Duration: 6 Months, poss ext

Pay Rate: £32.00 per hour PAYE

Hours: 4 days onsite, 08.00am to 16.00pm, 37+ hours per week

Adecco Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join one of our prestigious automotive clients based in Crewe. Our client has won numerous awards and are viewed as one of the most luxurious brands.

Job Purpose

Responsible for parts and supplier Quality activities in launch and series, ensuring delivery in line with design specification including approval of parts where required. Technical support on complex Supplier Quality issues including Production and Field. Drive quality improvements at external suppliers to ensure Product Quality targets are achieved. Ensure the company has the right information related to Supplier Quality performance to nominate suppliers that achieve the quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Parts Quality planning tools in line with business targets
  • Risk assessments of parts content
  • Facilitation and reporting of QTR activities.
  • Application of Quality planning tools
  • Part Maturation, Approval and Capacity analysis
  • Conduct approval process with support from other functions where required.
  • Meisterbock process including management of suppliers and parts through process.
  • Problem management with supply base.
  • Conduct and report 2DP in line with Quality plan.
  • Achieve Quality targets on pre series & series vehicles (Audit, DPV, Aftersales)
  • Drive actions to achieve targets on Product Quality issues.
  • Identify risks against targets and escalate.
  • Drive actions to achieve targets on FAP warranty/PDI issues.
  • Drive supplier improvement & Problem solving
  • Monitor supplier performance measures.
  • Drive supplier improvement initiatives
  • Solves problem using recognised techniques to establish root cause and containments.
  • Deliver effective presentations.
  • Deputise for the Supplier Quality Manager where required.
  • Support Supplier Quality Manager with the management of key deliverables within the team related to meeting the business requirements.
  • Support Supplier Quality Manager with key operational activities as required.

Skills & Experience required

  • Knowledge of Engineering across multiple commodities or a specialist in one
  • Experience in automotive Supplier Quality management
  • Experience of management systems
  • Experience of quality planning
  • IT Literate
  • Strong communication skills and be able to motivate others
  • Able to direct & coach others within the team regarding technical issues

Desirable skills & Experience

  • AD experience
  • Six Sigma
  • Relevant degree or equivalent
