Senior Support Worker - Day Services

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Support Worker on a permanent full-time basis, based in the North Down area with a salary of £20,511 per year and staff benefits.

Our client has a global reach in the Social Care sector, offering a wide range of services that support Adults and Children with learning disabilities. This client also has an impressive site with facilities and views that truly must be seen to be believed.

This role will be based in our client's Adult Day Services Centre, where you'll directly be involved in the development of social skills via a wide range of activities and learning opportunities.

This role also offers a Mon - Fri, 9 am to 5 pm shift pattern.

Responsibilities:

With a full copy of the Job Duties and Person Spec available on request, you will:

• Assist the Team Leader in providing high standards of care and support including personal care to adults with complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
• Assist in providing meaningful activities in an outdoor environment.
• Work with the Team Leader in the development, management, and mentoring of staff.

Requirements:

• QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and 6 months experience in a support/caring setting.
• GCSE Maths and English - C grade minimum.
• 1-year minimum experience in a support/care setting.
• Comfortable with personal care and working with challenging behaviours.
• Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
• Ability to work as part of a team and to work under pressure.
• Able to work shifts that include evenings, weekends and unsocial hours.
