We are seeking a synthesis chemist to join a multinational company in Oxfordshire. This is a senior level role, suitable for someone with PhD, kilo synthesis, and complex project experience. There will be opportunities for progression to Team Leadership.

What you’ll do:

You will be working in the development and carrying-out of synthesis chemistry and solving issues with route identification and purification.

The role holder will operate at a scale of up to multi-litre, and be working on active pharmaceutical ingredient synthesis.

You will be communicating with managers on projects and lab requirements such as equipment needed, evaluating routes, advising colleagues, interacting with clients regularly and delivering synthesis projects to deadlines.

Your background:

We are seeking a candidate qualified to PhD (or high level of qualification in chemistry plus experience) and experienced in working on projects at multi kilo scale.

You will be experienced in working with teams of chemists to direct synthesis activities, and solve issues. The role will call for a strong background in developing and evaluating synthetic plans and complex synthetic routes.

You will be in a position to operate with authority on issues regards scale up and seen as a key team member in this regard. The role will be one which progresses in the longer term to team leadership based on performance in post.
