I have a super exciting position available for a Senior Automation QA Engineer to join my client based in Bristol. They develop software that contributes to enhancing the lives of millions of individuals. You will need to be happy to commit to going into the office 3 days a week but they are based in North Bristol which makes it easily accessible from different areas, and they have the benefit of on site parking available.
You'll be joining as the Senior Automation QA within the company and be the go-to expert on automation. You'll be joining a established QA team that are currently made up of predominantly manual testers. You'll be the advocate for Automation across multiple development teams and work streams, fostering and driving a culture of putting Test Automation at their core. You'll be instrumental in guiding the teams towards embracing automation and to continuously enhancing their processes.
They are in the midst of transitioning their automation to utilise Playwright and Typescript, moving away from older tools. Your responsibilities will include further developing these frameworks, selecting the most effective tools to advance the current automation practices and expanding automation coverage across their products. As the primary contact for Test Automation matters, you will lead the charge, with plans in place to hire another automation tester to support you in the future.
You'll work closely with the development team and internal stakeholders and work to instill and promote a culture of best practice within their teams around Test Automation. Part of the role will also be to eventually mentor manual testers, helping them to develop their automation skills over time.
The ideal person will have be passionate about Test Automation and have a proven track record with tools such as Playwright, TypeScript, and/or Cypress. You'll need to be the sort of person who enjoys staying abreast of the latest technologies and trends in Test Automation and have a demonstrated ability of managing multiple testing activities and driving process improvements within teams. You will also need to have great interpersonal skills, as this role involves significant collaboration with both the development team and business stakeholders.
This position offers a salary of up to GBP70,000, with a performance-based bonus of 8-12% and an amazing benefits package.
