Mission :
We are seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Senior Test Engineer to work in our residential temperature controls team. Based in the Plymouth office in a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days on site with occasional travel to other sites as required. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will have a structured approach to test design and verification with demonstrable skills developing test processes. You will have track record of testing products being in the development from end-to-end.
You will play a key role in the realisation of leading-edge smart heating products. It is key that you can demonstrate you are a natural collaborator with a successful track record of embedded software delivery in your career to date. You will have a passion for design excellence and demonstrate outstanding technical competence.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the testing engineers to ensure efficient and effective testing processes. Help manage and allocate resources, including test environments, tools, and personnel, to support testing activities. Monitor and track test progress, providing regular status reports to project stakeholders.
- You will be a play a key role in developing and implementing test strategies, plans, and test cases based on project requirements and contribute to continuous development and improvement of testing and diagnostic methodologies.
- The creation of defects trends analysis to recognize the weak areas of code and measure key progress indicators on requirement coverage, test case effectiveness, test execution and defect identification and closure
- You will mentor junior team members to support the team development and coach test team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement of test processes.
- You will coordinate with stakeholders to understand project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, business, support) to resolve issues and ensure smooth testing cycles. Define and prioritise test activities, ensuring comprehensive coverage and adherence to quality standards.
- You will be able to demonstrate experience in Continuous Integration, bug tracking, and test management tools (such as Git, Jira, confluence, XRAY)
- You will have experience as a Senior Test Engineer supporting end-to-end product development. Experience working in a manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experience of testing devices through standard interfaces, such as Zigbee, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well as part of wider systems.
- Ideally you will have experience of development in an Agile environment and understand the concepts of the methodology.
- Good understanding of electronics and microcontroller-based embedded systems for consumer products
- You will have a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- ISTQB Foundation level or above
