Job Title: Senior Test Software Engineer                              

Location: Stevenage

Pay Range/details: £60,000 – £75,000

Contract Type: Permanent

My client, who are on of the UK’s biggest design and production capability of weapon systems in the defence industry are currently recruiting for a Senior Software Engineers or Electronic Engineers with transferable talent, who are experienced in test solutions.

You’ll be employed onsite in Hertfordshire, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis with flexible hours.

It is a multi-disciplined, dynamic, focused, and agile team specialising in all aspects of test solution design, including software, hardware, simulation, and real-time systems. This team is a great hub to learn about the company's entire product portfolio, whilst embracing the change to DevOps and other innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities – Senior Test Software Engineer

• Working within a multi-disciplined, dynamic, focused, and agile team
• Working with a diverse portfolio of projects, influencing product certification, manufacturing output, and support activities
• As a key player in Test Software, you will be partially responsible for developing and supporting software packages that utilise Test Equipment hardware.
• Assist the conformance and quality of the product range from development, through production, and into field test scenarios.
• Embracing change to DevOps and other innovative technologies

Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Test Software Engineer

• Industry experience as a Software Engineer or electronic engineer with transferable talent into software development for test solutions.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
• Proficiency in one of the following languages: C, C++, or ADA
• Motivation to develop reliable, high-performance, standardized, and documented software.
• Strong analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis.
• 'Can do' and flexible approach, enjoying solving technical problems that may extend beyond the bounds of software.
• Eagerness to work on novel products where the software produced is time and mission critical.
• Effective communication skills with multiple stakeholders, including Systems Engineering, Electronics and Electrical, and Test and Validation
