Are you an experienced and qualified Trading Standards Officer looking for new challenges? If so, Lincolnshire County Council has an exciting and rare opportunity for two individuals to join our Trading Standards team.
In the last year, the team has made some very significant progress.
- They precured 188 food samples of which 26% were unsatisfactory.
- Undertook 267 visits to check compliance with animal health and feed legislation.
- Reviewed 7,147 complaints and intelligence reports.
- Secured a prosecution against a Lincolnshire trader for selling dangerous e-scooters
- Secured a confiscation order in excess of £150,000 following the Services longest custodial sentence against a rogue trader who defrauded 23 consumers across the East Midlands.
- Granted 32 closure orders by the courts for persistent sales of illicit and non-compliant tobacco and e-cigarettes, to both adults and children.
- Responded to 252 requests for business advice.
- Seized 11,717 non-compliant vapes and e-liquids, 60 litres of alcohol and 11,239 illicit tobacco products.

About you
You'll be persistent, determined, patient, thorough, pay attention to detail and have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Needless to say you will need to be an excellent communicator, have a professional yet personable manner and be extremely self-aware.
You'll will hold part or a full professional qualification such as the Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards with the food law paper being desirable. On the job training will be provided and the opportunity to maintain and progress within the qualification’s framework. This role is permanent and will be generally working office hours however, there will be times where unsociable hours will be required………..Rogue Traders don’t always stick to 9-5! Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle will be essential. The successful applicant will need to undergo Police vetting.
