Senior Transport Operator
As the Senior Transport Operator, you will be directing all aspects of container transport operations. You will be overseeing, mentoring and providing training to the junior members of the team, to ensure a high standard of service for our customers. Job Specifics
- Attending meetings with clients, teams and public authorities
- Lead the traffic desk team with a positive attitude to support with growth and develop their skills
- Produce required revenue KPIs per week per truck
- Liaise with customers on specific requirements and needs to their business
- Be proactive in customer queries and resolve issues via phone, email, or face to face
- Data entry of orders, statistics, customer reports, KPI's and drivers' daily activities and the ability to adjust schedules when needed
- Assist with management of the fleet of vehicles and containers
- Monitor and action any e-mails received and ensuring paperwork is actioned and completed promptly
- Contribute to the site health and safety initiatives, meetings and briefings
- Provide quotes and dealing with any issues from drivers and customers
- Work alongside the transport team to ensure the customer expectations are exceeded
- Manage own time, planning and performance on a day-to-day basis
- Brief the drivers and ensure de-briefing is accurate with the data and reporting of defects, accidents and delivery issues
- Preparing concise, well-written reports
Candidate Profile
- Must have knowledge and experience of the container transport industry
- Knowledge of Fargo TOPs operating system
- Highly organised, methodical and has high attention to detail
- The ability to examine data and present in a cohesive manner, highlighting key findings
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Someone who is self-motivated, proactive, and able to problem solve
- A team player with a high level of dedication and wanting a fresh challenge
- Working knowledge of Driver Hours Regulations & experience within Health & Safety
- Exceptional communication skills, able to work across multiple departments
- Have a "can do" attitude with the proactiveness to promote a positive work culture
- Good geographical knowledge
- Strong administration skill with the ability to work with Word, Excel and Outlook
