Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a forward thinking and dynamic unitary authority located between the Liverpool and Manchester conurbations. With good transport connections locally, good schools, several vibrant retail centres and masses of open space and parks, Warrington is a great place to work, live and visit.

The role

You would be working within a team of transport planning professionals who already have an excellent record of delivering innovative and brave transport projects. Warrington has been punching above its weight in attracting new transport investment with projects such as Warrington West rail station, the new bus depot, an all-electric fleet of buses, on-street electric vehicle charging and Levelling Up funding. In addition Warrington has an ambitious Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure plan which has already delivered many miles of new cycle routes and better facilities for pedestrians. All this work supports the Council with its ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030.

What's needed?

The successful candidate would be supporting several high-profile transport projects together with the development of transport strategies for Warrington and bids for external funding. Whether you already have some transport planning experience or are educated to degree level in a relevant field, we’d love to hear from you.

We provide a supportive, inclusive environment, where you’ll be encouraged to shine and make the most of your unique talents. We’re serious about building a bold forward thinking workforce so we will be investing in your skills and empower you to success.

Benefits

As well as a competitive salary, working for us means you get:

  • 26 days annual holiday - raising to 31 after 5 years of service (pro-rata)
  • Access to our attractive and competitive benefits package
  • Access to our Health & Wellbeing Programme
