AddressA vacancy has arisen for a qualified Motor Vehicle Technician in our busy workshop in the heart of the Peak District in our well established, busy, family-owned garage. The position will involve the servicing and repair of a wide range of cars and small commercials. The successful applicant will have suitable previous experience in the motor industry and possess well developed diagnostic skills.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels in a polite and efficient manner;
- Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards to health and safety;
- Undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard;
- Effectively record details of diagnosis, work completed, and components utilised in line with group and manufacturer standards;
- Carrying out all work completely and effectively whilst adhering to the manufacturer’s schedule times to maintain efficiency.
Requirements:
- Extensive post apprenticeship experience as a Technician, Automotive Engineer or Mechanic gained either in a franchised dealership or garage;
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;
- Organisational and time management skills;
- Experience with diagnostic fault finding equipment;
- A relevant vehicle maintenance qualification – at least NVQ Level 2 or upwards, or an equivalent City & Guilds or equivalent in experience;
- Strong communication skills;
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Previous experience of working in a similar workshop or repair centre environment.
