Description

The Senior Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination and development of our clients site activity and delivery operations. You will be tasked with inspiring and motivating the management team to create a diverse, open and engaging culture to deliver agreed KPI's for our clients customer. Reporting to the General Manager and based in the Dartford area, your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide authentic and inspirational leadership to energise the team, soliciting their experiences to engender respect, team identity, loyalty, pride, trust and aspiration
• Evolving and agreeing the site operating budget
• Coaching and mentoring Managers through induction and their ongoing professional development
• Managing your team's resource level; ensuring appropriate roster cover to budget, with regard for volume expectations, to achieve timely order fulfilment completion
• Communicating inter-departmentally to agree efficient planning of site operations which meet the needs of client, outside service providers, Union/Council groups and the wider team
• Engaging effectively with your team to control unexpected events and ensure that requisite standards of safety, welfare, quality, conduct and process are rigorously maintained
• Chairing internal safety, people, customer, delivery and cost meetings to engender a culture of continuous improvement, high engagement and aspiration in delivering key business objectives
• Deliver productivity expectancies and quality standards through measuring process capability rather than production outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement, developing business cases for funding and detailing implementation plans with which to guide your management team in delivering initiatives
• Provide comprehensive updates; presenting operating highlights, risks and opportunities to focus on in pursuit of continually improving performance
• Implementation of Health & Safety policies, compliance and legislative requirements on site and throughout the region

Profile

The successful Senior Warehouse Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of our client's operation in Kent and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

• Experience of working in a fast paced warehouse environment of a similar scale
• Previous experience in a senior leadership position with direct team management/engagement essential
• Experience in managing a budget and making commercial decisions
• Working knowledge of WMS
• Experience in a continuous improvement environment
• Strong verbal communication, written and numeracy skills
• Working knowledge of current health and safety practices
