We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Well Control Equipment Engineer to join a leading International Marine & Engineering Consultancy. The successful candidate will join the ABL Team in Aberdeen to support us in various projects and operations.


What you will be doing.


As our Senior Well Control Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of projects including scope, deliverables, and scheduling manpower resources. The role requires commitment, technical insight, the ability to lead and motivate people, and the willingness to carry out the day-to-day project execution of the Well Control Equipment Business Line projects, as well as other hands-on inspection attendances. In addition, you will:
  • Support the preparation of tenders and proposals about the Well Control Equipment services offered.
  • Support the overall rig inspection team to meet established targets and standards.
  • Support the European & Regional Management team in growing the Business.
  • Review technical reports, before client issues.
  • Review of WCE Standards and Internal Standards to meet continuous improvements.
  • Conduct Well Control Equipment Technical Projects & WCE Assurance Projects.
  • Support, maintain and develop new and existing clients through appropriate propositions and relevant liaison to optimize quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction–raising commercial awareness.
  • And other duties as assigned.
The role is potentially based in Aberdeen, UK. However, we are open to receiving applications from Europe and UK, with applicants having the right to work and reside in both the UK, Europe and Norway.
Flexibility regarding working hours, willingness to travel and work within a variety of time zones – International & offshore travel is a requirement of the job.
Local and international travel will be required (to meet clients in international hubs) and to conduct inspections and attendances.


What we are looking for.


We are looking for a driven and solution-oriented professional with sound technical skills and good decision-making capabilities. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously. In addition, you:
Essential:
  • A minimum of At least 15 years relevant experience of hands-on experience as a subsea engineer.
  • Mechanical or Electrical qualifications relevant to WCE.
  • Recognized IWCF / IADC Well Control Certificate.
  • Offshore survival certificates.
  • Medical certificates for offshore working.
  • Can demonstrate working knowledge of drilling operations and, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering systems and equipment.
  • Good decision-making capability with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
  • Accurate reporting and the ability to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously.
Desirable Skills:
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Industry WCE training.
  • OEM Well Control Equipment Training.
  • Drilling Equipment training.
  • Exposure to WCE assurance processes.
