My client is one of the leading providers of insurance and legal services with multiple offices across the UK and they are looking for a Serious Injury deputy Team Manager to assist the Serious Injury head of department and/or SI Manager managing the team on a day to day basis.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manage own caseload
Manage team performance in line with business and team objectives, be accountable for their financial performance and delivery against the agreed targets
Conduct regular, documented 1-2-1 meetings, and quarterly reviews within the team
Provide effective people management and drive the right behaviours, leading by example
Identify any problem cases within the team and bring them to the attention of the HOD or Manager
Ensure that due diligence checks are completed on every case
Assist with the management of resourcing and workloads across the team, including recruitment
Provide full supervisory support and guidance on technical issues involving quantum, liability and litigation generally
Provide support to the SI Team Manager with technical issues passed from across the business as and when the arise
Ensure the team are securing positive client reviews
Managing risk across the teams ensuring all scheduled entries are up to date and producing and monitoring relevant reports such as Not Worked on (NWOs) and Limitation reports
Highlight any potential risks to senior management and Compliance department
Review and complete all agreed management checks, such as Directions, audits and Limitation supervisor entries
Keep up to date with all industry changes including case law, legislation and other matters of relevance
Liaise with Senior Management and HR regarding any staff issues
Experience Knowledge
Qualified Solicitor, Member/Fellow of CILEX or experienced Case Handler with extensive Serious Injury OR High End Multi Track experience in the Personal Injury sector
Ability to compile and analyse data and take action according to the results
Commercially minded, able to see opportunities to optimise outcomes on cases, both for the client and the firm
Previous management experience to include achieving objectives, performance management and motivating staff
Ability to provide clear direction and take accountability for the team performance and objectives
Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
