Service & Commissioning Engineer/Technician - Worldwide Travel
The Service Engineer/Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of engineering and sales activities on-site to support Zeeco's Aftermarket & Service Department.
Roles & Responsibilities
- The service engineer will be responsible for undertaking on-site commissioning & maintenance activities, troubleshooting, training and site supervision developing excellent end user relationships exceeding our customers' expectations at all times.
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Working on combustion and fired equipment within the oil, gas and petrochemical industries both in the UK and worldwide which will involve extensive travel and time away from home.
- Individually undertaking on-site commissioning of both new and retrofit equipment, general maintenance, troubleshooting, fault finding analysis, installation supervision, plant surveys and inspections, draft and deliver training to end user personnel
- Prepare RAMS, site visit reports and maintain timesheets for submission to clients
- Starting up new and refurbished combustion systems on-site
- Working with all of Zeeco's combustion products and systems including flare systems, flare gas recovery, boiler burners, process burners, thermal oxidizers, vapour recovery systems BMS's and associated pollution & optical control equipment
- Using Service & Commissioning activity as a platform to identify potential opportunities for additional aftermarket spares and site service support
- Supervise on site turnaround / outages contracts
- To ensure that the Company Health and Safety Policy is adhered to, actively promoting a safe working environment.
Competencies - Essential
- Strong overall multi-skilled technician or engineer, with working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and PLC control systems
- Able to work confidently on their own initiative as well as a part of a team
- Ability to identify and maintain appropriate standards whilst working alone
- Prepared to travel and be away from home potential more than 200 days per year for approximately 1-2 week periods
- Capable to promote the company's image and products
- Be self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic
- Ability to work under pressure
- No fear of working at heights / confined spaces / offshore
- Good computer and communication skills
- Ability to read and understand P & IDs, electrical schematics & mechanical drawings
- Previous combustion experience working within the oil, gas or related petrochemical industries would be advantageous.
- Time served and experience working away from home is desirable
