Service Engineer – On-site Belfast Harbour
We are looking for night shift personnel only. There will be full training and support for the successful candidate.
The successful candidate(s) will work a rotating shift pattern over a 7-day period (exact shift pattern TBC):
Week 1: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 4 x 12-hour shifts (7pm to 7am)
Week 2: Wednesday/Saturday/Sunday 3 x 12 shifts (7pm to 7am)
We have a high level of flexibility around the shift pattern to ensure a good work life balance.
The hourly rate is approximately £16ph and the shift allowance is approximately £8,500 (annually approximately £43,500).
There is also a pension as well as some excellent benefits.
As per most of our night shift roles in the shipping / container industry, employees are paid for their rostered hours but do not always end up working these hours. When night operations cease because the ships have been discharged the maintenance crew along with operation staff are finished but they are still paid for their full shifted hours. On some nights there are no ships meaning there is no requirement for maintenance but again they are still paid for the full scheduled shift.
Ideally, we are looking for Plant Fitter/Service Engineer with experience on mobile and/or material handling equipment. Experience working at height is always useful but not necessary. We're quite open minded in terms of the experience if the core skill set is there and at least 5 years post qualification experience.
This role is based at a single site in Belfast Harbour where we have a crew of 8 in total. Applicants should be computer literate and previous experience using electronic / computer-based control systems on equipment will be a distinct advantage.
