Aerial Access Services Ltd has been providing a 24-hour breakdown service to all users of aerial access since 2007.
Our engineers hold a vast array of certificates for passing manufacturers' product service training courses. To provide these manufacturers with the support they require the candidate will be trained on the following manufacturer's equipment with in-house training and or factory training, We support all manufacturers' equipment in the industry but specifically the following: Genie, JLG, Skyjack, Niftylift, Multitel, CTE, Aldercote, versalift, CPL - Cumberland platforms, In addition, our engineers will Be IPAF operator, IPAF demonstrator, and IPAF competent assessment qualifications.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Service Engineer with a broad range of technical skills who can solve problems, work to a high standard, and provide excellent customer service.
The Role
Your responsibilities as a Service Engineer will include assisting in maintaining a large fleet of powered access equipment in Scotland and the surrounding islands, ensuring that all mandatory checks are completed on time.
We will provide a full training program for the equipment the candidate has not worked on, as well as provide you with access to experienced engineers who can provide information and guidance throughout the training process.
Requirements
An apprentice-trained technician with a minimum of NVQ level 2 qualification. Relevant to the industry.
Manufacturers’ training courses are an advantage.
IPAF CAP qualified to an advantage.
IPAF Demonstrator licence.
Full driving licence.
A good understanding of various types of mewps, telehandlers, and vehicle-mounted platforms will be of advantage. Able to understand schematic drawings for fault finding.
Flexible and organised.
Good interpersonal skills.
Clear communicator, both verbal and written.
Able to work to deadlines.
Must be able to work without supervision.
Well presented as this is a customer-facing role.
The ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising safety or legal compliance.
Know powered access experience and assessed by IPAF to cap standards.
Know about hydraulics, electrics, electronics, internal combustion engines, electric, mains and diesel-powered equipment.
Have electrical and hydraulic schematic understanding.
Responsibilities
Responsible for service examinations, call-outs and repairs of our 1500-2000 privately owned powered access customers based Both on and off-site and at our workshop.
Customer and warranty support for leading manufacturers- JLG, Multitel, CTE, Skyjack, Niftylift, CPL, Spiderlift, Aldercote to name a few.
Raise quotations based on defects found.
Occasional work or major repairs at aerial access workshop.
Carry out LOLER examinations in line with statutory compliance.
Attend Breakdowns.
Occasional overnight as we do some work in the outer Hebridean Islands and Shetland Islands.
