About the Role

The Service Transition Consultant role is responsible for the successful transition of new customers and services, or changes to existing services into live operations against an agreed Service Acceptance Criteria.

This role is responsible for the coordination activities across projects, technical teams and service teams, ensuring services for Customers are handed over to Service Operations following the Service Transition process with no service impact.

The role will support the development of Service Transition management practices throughout the business, building strong relationships with other functions and the wider company.

Responsibilities:

Planning – Work with the Projects Team to plan out all transition activities required to ensure the go live date is achieved.

Validation and Testing – Ensuring solutions are tested, validated, and signed off before handover to Operational Support.

Operational Readiness – Teams need to be briefed, all required handover documentation provided, all onboarding and Service Assurance tasks in place prior to go live.

Communication – This role must ensure all key stakeholders are engaged at the correct time and are kept informed of project status and target go live dates, obtaining the required approvals at every stage gate.

What we are looking for:

  • ITIL V3 or V4 Qualification
  • 3 Years’ experience of working in an ITIL conformant Managed Service Environment
  • 2 Years’ Service Transition Manager experience – demonstrating that you have managed medium to complex projects.
  • Has project management capability and develops effective resource and operational plans.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering Services into the Live environment with risk reduction/mitigation on time.
  • In-depth understanding of IT service management principles
  • Strong persuasive skills and the ability to share a common goal, gaining buy in and commitment from peers and management across the business.
  • Takes real ownership for resolving all onboarding issues and driving service performance improvements.
  • liaise with customers to promote and communicate the transition process and ensure any customer transition requirements are understood and delivered.
    • Confidently present to customers and internal stakeholders
    • Have experience of presenting to and communicating with customers
