Chester


6-month initial contract


£30-32,000 per annum

Job Role:


An opportunity has arisen for 6 months paternity cover, within the EMEA Commodities Settlement Team for an Operations Analyst level role, based in Chester. The role involves being the point of contact for EMEA based clients for commodity settlements. The successful candidate must, after a period of training, will be able to offer a premium service, to address and resolve any issues or queries. Prior commodities or investment banking experience is preferable however, the successful candidate will need to be a resilient individual who is proactive, diligent and risk focused, self-driven to develop their knowledge and understanding of the commodity process and business requirements of this exciting role.



Key Role and Daily Tasks:



  • Responsible for the settlement of physical precious metals and financial derivative trades for all indexes.

  • Analysing accounts receivable and payable ageing, working with counterparties, sales, traders, third parties and the confirmation team to resolve discrepancies.

  • Industry regulatory reporting tasks.

  • Communicate updates and escalation to management.

  • Presentable, confident and client focused. Client facing experience or ability to conduct discussions with Clients in a confident manner.

  • Excellent communications skills and ability to present to an audience.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.

  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds.

  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Candidate will be able to manage own time and know when to escalate.

  • Previous experience within a client service team with particular focus on DMA and OTC settlement.

  • Knowledge of Operational Risk, Client Money Protection and Funding
    Strives to bring new thoughts and ideas to teams in order to drive innovation and unique solutions.

  • Excels in working among diverse viewpoints to determine the best path forward.

  • Experience in connecting with a diverse set of clients to understand future business needs - is a continuous learner.
