Sewage Treatment Works Operative | Menwith Hill

Location: RAF Menwith Hill
Working Hours: 08.00 – 16.30
Salary: Up to £27,000 depending on experience
Within VIVO we are currently recruiting for a Sewage/Plant/Wastewater operative to undertake maintenance of the Sewage treatment plant at RAF Menwith Hill.
Reporting to both the on-site Delivery Manager or Technical Services Manager you will work as part of the on-site engineering team and daily tasks will be allocated via the onsite Helpdesk and paper-based task instruction.
Within this role you will be required to undertake Statutory, Mandatory and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks in a safe and efficient manner. You will ensure all tasks and relevant records are completed comprehensively and timely withing service level agreements.
Daily tasks can include;
- Maintenance, treatment, sampling, and testing of the Sewage plant
- Undertaking minor installation works e.g., refurbishment projects
- Ensuring all H&S documentation (RAMS) are present prior to engaging in tasks
- Reviewing and contributing to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Notifying management of any defects on equipment or systems
- Attend team briefs, Toolbox talks and technical bulletins
- Mentorship of apprentices

What you’ll need to do this role
You will use your previous experience within similar environment to demonstrate your knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements including COSHH and RIDDOR.
This role will include frequent travel within the local area so it is essential you hold a full clean UK driving licence to ensure you can use the company van.
It is highly desirable that you hold relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2 in operating process plant (water/wastewater), City and Guilds Level 2 in water engineering, City and Guilds Level 2 for water sector competent operator.
It is desirable that you have experience of operating within either an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment.
You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
