Gi Group is seeking a skilled individuals to join our team for a niche operation in warehouse based in Hams Hall B461AL
You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to alter textile garments (Sewing; pressing; measuring ;cutting; etc.). You will work with a range of fabrics and materials, using sewing machines as well as other equipment to produce high-quality finished products. Attention to detail, precision, and a understanding of garment construction are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sewing and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate sewing machines and other equipment to stitch, hem, press.
  2. Perform alterations to ensure proper fit and finish of garments.
  3. Maintain a clean and organised work area, including sewing machines and tools.
  4. Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making any necessary adjustments or repairs.
  5. Collaborate other team members to ensure consistency and quality in product production.
  6. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and materials to continually improve skills and knowledge.
  7. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  8. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate tasks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor
  2. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment.
  3. Knowledge of different types of fabrics, their characteristics, and how they behave during sewing.
  4. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards in finished products.
  5. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday , hours TBC
There is also a possibility of part time work .
