Sat/Nights £28.33 per hour
Sun/Bank Hols £34.87 per hour
Contract length: On going – full time/part time

Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 20:00hrs

What you’ll be responsible for:
- To co-ordinate the delivery and development of the Sexual Health service through the use of effective evidence based practice in line with agreed national standards for patient safety and monitoring.
- To be accountable for the planning and delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care in relation to dedicated pathways of care, working as an autonomous practitioner.
- To continuously improve clinical care standards in line with the clinical governance framework.
- To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Conduct.
- To ensure effective communication internally and externally regarding patient care and resources.
- Provide education and training to clinical staff across the Trust.
- Provide specialist clinical advice and support to patients and clinical staff within the Trust on the management and care of patients within Sexual Health.
- To provide direct access for patients, either face to face or telephone consultation.
- To represent the service nationwide.
- To play a key role in ensuring that national and local standards/targets for the Sexual Health are met.
- To manage/lead practitioner led clinics in relation to reviewing patients and play a key role in optimising complex treatment regimes.
- To undertake research relevant to the needs of the specialist area.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
Qualifications :
- Current 1 level NMC registration
- Degree in nursing studies or relevant clinical degree (UK equivalent)
- Practice assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Recognised competency based qualifications in integrated Sexual Health e.g. Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections and Contraception in Practice, or Integrated Sexual Health Module, or equivalent
- Cervical cytology qualification
- Evidence of competency achievement in Sub-dermal implant insertion and removal
- Non-medical prescribing or willingness to complete.
Experience :
- Previous clinical experience of working within an integrated Sexual Health setting
- Experience of leading a team or experience of supervising junior staff
Skills and Knowledge :
- Evidence of innovation in practice
- Evidence of practice development
- Awareness of national health and social care policy
- Knowledge of best practice in sexual and reproductive health
- Knowledge of current issues relating to health service provision and the public health agenda
- Ability to practice confidentially within legal frameworks and policies
- Clinical teaching experience
- Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information, where persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic or reassurance skills are required
- Able to work without supervision
- Competent in the use of IT packages
- Proven interpersonal skills
