The role

As a Safety, Health and Environment Trainer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working to provide Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) support to Babcock to ensure we are legally compliant, maintain our safe systems of work and that our workforce remain healthy and injury free.

Day to day, you'll work within a team responsible for the delivery and facilitation of a suite of safety training courses ranging from in-house 'awareness' courses to externally accredited QCF training courses to an array of learners from the Devonport site.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional training to employees with a wide range of experience, predominantly within the Health and Safety (H&S) discipline. All training to be delivered to a professional standard
  • Providing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) support for the routine review and amendment of training course content - ensure H&S training is delivered to comply with current UK regulations and awarding body assessment criteria
  • Maintaining the standards set by the relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure training delivery compliance
  • Actively engaging with and promote a positive safety culture

This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based at our Devonport site full time.

Essential experience of the Safety, Health and Environment Trainer:

  • Experienced SHE Trainer from a construction or engineering background
  • Experienced in course design and management
  • Demonstrable presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Able to effectively use IT, including MS packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Experienced First Aid Trainer

Qualifications for the Safety, Health and Environment Trainer:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Level 3 Award in Adult Education & Training, or equivalent
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
