Sheet Metal Worker - PERMANENT - BIRKENHEAD - £17.57ph
Working for a global business with a focus on the Nuclear industry, preferably certified in fabrication and welding. Also, advantageous to have experience in HVAC and Ventilation.
Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4.00pm
Friday 7.00am-1.00pm
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Full fabrication of bespoke high integrity Ductwork components manufactured from Stainless and Mild Steel sheet thickness 2mm-3mm thick.
Knowledge of Sheet Metal assembly techniques for example folding rolling of Ductwork components using Press Brake /Power Rollers .
Manual skills and precision marking out of pre-cut (Guillotine/Laser) sections of ductwork including Straight’s radius bends, square to rounds, tapers etc
Supervise assembly of bespoke items including the ?fitting of RSA flanges / stiffeners / Branches / Cap Ends / Tapping points etc
Use of various hand powered tools, nibblers/drills/ etc
Inspecting and testing components produced to make sure they meet quality requirements
Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours / nights / Weekends
Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Awareness of Specifications and other Contract documents
Understanding of manufacturing tolerances
Understands and implements the requirements of Inspection and Test Plans
Working to detailed Engineering drawings
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Level 3 NVQ fabrication /welding
- Experience of Fabrication and welding to ?Nuclear specifications ?and a variety of high-end stainless steel and mild steel products.
- Good working knowledge of current H & S legislation
