  • Sheltered Scheme Manager
  • Public Sector - Local Authority
  • Full Time - Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5pm, 36 hours per week
  • Temporary Role - 3 months with possible extension
  • £19.50 per hour PAYE / £25,48 per hour Umbrella
  • Fully scheme based in Chiswick however attendance at other schemes may be required occasionally. No remote working. Post codes of other schemes are in TW4, TW7 and TW8
  • Full UK Drivers Licence and own vehicle is desirable, not essential

Purpose of The Role:

To provide a support service to Sheltered Housing tenants and respond to emergencies as required. To manage and be responsible for the security, Health and Safety of the buildings thus providing a pleasant environment for tenants.

Duties

  1. To visit tenants daily and monitor their wellbeing.
  1. To respond immediately to alarm calls whenever the system is not switched through to Linkline (or at Linkline's request) and to take appropriate action. Responsible for testing, monitoring and reporting problems of the Emergency call system.
  1. To provide temporary assistance to tenants during illness or following discharge from hospital, including help with everyday tasks such as shopping or preparing light meals. Notify the relevant agencies to provide the assistance required.
  1. To encourage the use of communal facilities and promote the organisation of social events according to the wishes of the tenants and to include older tenants living in the community where appropriate.
  1. To assist prospective tenants with their offer of accommodation and provide assistance and support during the settling-in period, including their emotional adjustment to the move. To liaise with the Void and Lettings Team for new tenant sign up and termination process. To liaise with the Housing Officers for resettlement visits. To be responsible for void keys.
  1. To assist tenants to obtain advice about benefits, equipment for daily living and services from appropriate agencies. To liaise with Housing Benefits, welfare benefit & money advice and any other agencies on behalf of tenants.
  1. To maintain records of tenants including details of GP and next of kin and to ensure that Linkline is notified immediately of any change. To ensure that Wellbeing plans are completed for all tenants and reviews take place at appropriate time. To identity individual wellbeing needs and implement the wellbeing
  1. To liaise with G.P.s, Social Workers, community workers, other outside agencies, Next of Kin, other sections within Hounslow Housing and staff in other departments as necessary.
  1. To complete paperwork and follow all procedures required by the department, keeping up to date with any changes. Keep all files up to date, including tenant information file and Health and Safety information.
  1. To be responsible for the care and security of Sheltered Housing buildings. including fixtures and fittings.
  1. To be responsible for the initial investigation into Safeguarding Adults concerns, reporting immediately to Sheltered Housing Team Leader.
  1. Ability to use IT equipment and packages in the workplace.
  1. To be responsible for the master keys for all doors, and their safekeeping
  1. To participate in meetings and training courses as required by the department.
  1. In emergencies only, to help distressed tenants with washing and toileting.
  1. To provide cover to other Sheltered Housing units throughout the Borough as required.
  1. Any other broadly analogous duties which may be allocated from time to time.
