Are you an experienced SHEQ Manager with a Main Contractor background, looking for an opportunity to join a long standing, reputable business with great career prospects?
We are working with a well established Main Contractor who work throughout the Lancashire region, specialising in Education and Healthcare projects alongside commercial/leisure projects.
They are looking to recruit an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their close knit team on a permanent basis. Based in their Lancashire offices with site travel required, you will be responsible for:
- Set, review, communicate and enforce Health and Safety policies throughout the Business.
- Ensure all parties are fully aware of their own health and safety responsibilities within the Business and to ensure these responsibilities are duly carried out.
- Lead in the health and safety planning of projects which will include the production of Construction Phase Plans, safe systems of work for high risk activities etc.
- Monitor performance and implement improvement measures i.e. active and reactive monitoring such as site inspections, accident/incident investigation etc.
- Audit and review all areas of the management system and provide written reports to management identifying recommended areas for improvement.
- Work closely with project teams ensuring Health and Safety implications are considered at the heart of each phase of a project from tender stage, throughout the construction phase, to project completion.
- Provide practical, cost effective solutions and advice to Management.
- Assist others in related activities such as the completion of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, conducting hearings and interviews etc.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a stable and progressive career background, and come from a General Construction/Main Contractor background.
The salary is negotiable, depending on experience + attractive package.
