At Moonreach, we deliver residential childcare services in a 3-bed home in Upper Armley for children aged 7 to 18.
We are a family-owned business who have developed a brand recognised and respected for delivering high quality services in all our homes. Since opening in 2010, we have grown steadily and are excited to now be looking for a committed individual with recent, relevant experience to join our team as a Shift Leader.
As a Shift Leader, you will need to have good knowledge and experience of the law and practice relating to children in care and demonstrate the ability to organise and oversee a team of support workers during a shift.
You will have a recognised social care or professional qualification relevant to working with children to at least diploma 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent) as well as at least two years of experience relevant to residential care.
Specific Requirements
- A level 3 qualification related to working with children.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development to enhance our service delivery
- 2 years of relevant experience
- A demonstrable high level of performance in record keeping and organisational experience
- A well-rounded understanding of the social, cultural, physical and emotional needs of children and young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour
- The ability to motivate young people through social and leisure activities towards developing personal and social skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and objectively in a sometimes-pressured environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to identify your own training and personal development needs.
- Due to current Ofsted regulations, all applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old
If successful, you will be required to work 37.5 hours per week and a minimum of 2 sleep-in shifts.
