Role:
The Shift Leader shall direct the team throughout manufacturing operations to achieve the businesses goals and deadlines. They must demonstrate leadership while communicating team goals, programs, and processes within Manufacturing. In this role you will utilize your own experience and expertise or leverage that of your teams to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and meet both short and long-term business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a cross-functional team of machinists, welders and QC inspectors to achieve business targets.
- Provide Shift Leadership to achieve goals in production, process/manufacturing loss improvement, quality, delivery and cost reduction.
- Drive HSE objectives to meet site targets and ensure a strong culture of HSE is maintained.
- Perform administrative duties in a timely manner, including time and attendance, non-conformance analysis, absence reviews and management/permitting of contractors.
- Inform employees of business goals and objectives. Initiate an open communication pattern to promote exchange of ideas with employees, peers, and upper management. Conduct weekly briefings.
- Develop and maintain a positive work climate.
- Direct process / product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization to improve Safety, Quality and productivity.
- Advocate towards a culture of Continuous Improvement.
- Be part of the selection process for new hires and Train and develop staff and provide ongoing leadership and direction.
- Manage team performance to ensure that business goals are achieved.
- Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time.
- Manage short term resources to ensure that business priorities are completed on schedule.
- Provide ongoing support in scheduling resources, technical leadership and facilitating the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical, quality and production leadership to assigned team.
- Support Production Managers in the strategic planning of manpower, equipment and other resources.
- Drive a high standard of housekeeping throughout the factory.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a City and Guilds in Engineering / NC in engineering with experience in a manufacturing role)
- Experience in a manufacturing leadership role preferred but not essential.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Experience in manufacturing Oil & Gas equipment in a heavy engineering environment preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £43,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
