We are looking for a strong Electrical Shift Technician to join an established food manufacturing business in Uttoxeter. With the increase in production and an established client base, this is a great opportunity for an experienced technician to join a growing company who have invested heavily into the plant, which also boasts of their fully equipped workshop including welding bays, mills and lathes.Ideally we are looking for an electrical specialist who is there to support engineers on shift with their technical knowledge, able to upskill the workforce and continuously look for ways to improve projects. You will also need strong PLC skills, which includes working with existing software, modify and be able to write programmes.In your role as a Shift Technician, you will play an important part in supporting the operations team. Working alongside five experienced engineers on this shift, your duties will include:To provide technical support to the shift engineering team, reactive and proactive engineering work as required.Advise as shift expert in Electrical Engineering as and when requiredTo own and maintain the preventative and planned maintenance schedules in line with KPI’s.To coordinate, plan and deliver training to engineers to assist with developing capability in the engineering team.This will be a role where no two days are the same, where your efforts will be recognised and will have an impact on the wider business. To be successful in this Shift Technician’s role you will need:An electrical Engineering qualification, and/or a time served Apprenticeship in an engineering disciplineElectrical systems and installation experience and trainingExperience of working in a heavy industry/machinery maintenance background preferably in a manufacturing environment and ideally food manufacturing or FMCG.A strong background in fault finding/rectification, programming & competent of working with PLC systems, ideally Allan Bradley or Omron.
