Office Based Role 

My client is looking for a Shipbroker / Freight Forwarder to join their team! If you have previous experience as a Shipbroker / Freight Forwarder, and are looking to join a reputable company, then LOOK NO FURTHER!

Roles Responsibilities:

• Source and fix cargoes for our owned / managed vessels
• Act as broker to fix outside vessels on behalf of close charterers
• Fix vessels against contracts of affreightment
• Work with existing clients to cement relationships
• Develop opportunities with new clients
• Calculate voyage estimates and provide indications to clients
• Prepare C/P in line with agreed terms of fixture with different clients
• Liaise daily with ships, clients, agents and colleagues to ensure voyages are completed efficiently
• Assist team to collate information in respect of analysis, market trends and conditions for presentation to stakeholders

Skills:

• Previous experience as an owner’s broker / operator in shortsea chartering and vessel operations
• Client management / relationship building skills
• Ability to negotiate is vital
• Good understanding of accounting and numeracy skills
• Strong communication skills essential
• Working knowledge of different charter-parties
• Understanding of laytime and demurrage
• Willingness to adapt to different demands working in a small team
