ABOUT THE JOB
The Shipping Coordinator has responsibility for ensuring accurate timely and efficient shipping of items from and to the Glasgow site, monitoring and taking corrective action where necessary. Provides a high level of proactive customer service to clients and acts as a point of contact to resolve problems as they arise.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Experience working with any of the main global Freight & Logistics companies.
- Experience in up-to-date usage of incoterms / commodity code / tariff codes.
- Experience in compliance procedure throughout the logistics process.
- Good communication and customer service skills .
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Intermediate/Advance Excel skills.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Processing all aspects of import/export documents, customs entries and compliance for export and import entries and clearance through customs via Pacejet system and liaise with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce when required on documentation.
- Transport management from/to customers using air, road or sea freight (using nominated freight & logistics companies).
- Communicating verbally and via email with customers and third parties to ensure end to end targets are achieved and dispatch complies with Incoterms and customer requirements.
- Ensuring usage of incoterms / commodity code / tariff codes are accurate.
