Our Client based in Bury St Edmunds is searching for a Shipping Coordinator to join their team. Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day coordination and administrative support to the Imports/Exports activities- Playing a vital role in supporting regulatory compliance of imports and exports and effective movement of goods globally. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and people skills- being a team player is key!
Main duties and responsibilities
- Arranging export shipments, covering all modes of transport
- Generating export documentation and submitting to hauliers
- Support the effective flow of information between all departments including Goods-in, Sales, Labs, Planning and Shipping
- Ensure JDE information is up to date and submit new information where necessary
- Review agents service and costs and select carriers on a shipment by shipment basis
- Providing support to other areas of Logistics as and when required
Essential Skills

- People skills/relationship building.
- IT skills: Advance level of Microsoft Office and business systems and familiarity with commercial software
Education
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent to Grade C (4) or above (including English and Maths)
- A minimum of two years’ working in an office-based environment
- Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea or Road qualifications desirable
