Job description

Our client is an International logistics provider that offers bespoke solutions for art handling, installation and art transport. A trusted partner to leading artists, commercial galleries, collectors, and public museums worldwide.

The company are renowned for fantastic training, development of their staff via inhouse and external training courses and offer great support across the company for all members of staff.

They are now looking to for a Shipping Coordinator to join their Auctions team based in Hertfordshire.

You will be responsible for ensuring high value artwork is shipped safely, Worldwide, whilst utilising FedEx and similar organisations. The ideal candidate will have experience shipping high value goods via this form of transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Ensure timely and efficient shipping of high-value artworks worldwide while maximizing efficiency and profit margins.
  • Comply with Customs and HMRC procedures for International permanent/temporary imports and exports of artworks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Coordinate auction lot logistics.
  • Crate fabrication and packing - Organise the fabrication of crates and packing materials for FedEx shipments, ensuring the safe and secure transport of high-value artwork.
  • Organise and book auction lot collections, deliveries, and FedEx shipments, ensuring the seamless movement of artworks to and from auction houses.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of FedEx shipments for Auction House clientele, including tracking, documentation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in shipping high-value goods, particularly through FedEx or similar logistics providers.
  • Strong understanding of Customs and HMRC procedures for international shipments of artworks.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of crate fabrication and packing techniques for fragile items.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with auction house staff, clients, and logistics partners.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and logistics processes
