Shipping/Freight Coordinator - 4.5 Days Week

We're excited to be working with a market leading engineering and manufacturing firm headquartered in Saffron Walden, Essex. Due to steady growth, within a growing and global industry, our client now seeks a Shipping/Freight Coordinator to join their commercial team, this is a varied role working across Road, Sea and Air freight.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual, with an excellent attention to detail, extensive freight experience and an outgoing and confident personality. The ideal candidate will have experience of both import and export at a manufacturing company, though candidates from other logistics roles will also be considered.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the shipment of goods, inbound in the format of components and raw materials, and outbound in finished goods and returns. Your performance will be measured on your ability to ensure timely delivery, and on a day to day basis you will spent a lot of time maintaining effective communication with clients and partners.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for logistics, strong organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including import/export documentation, customs clearance, and transportation arrangements.
• Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth and timely shipment of goods.
• Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates to clients.
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the shipping process.
• Prepare and review shipping documents, including Airway bills, packing lists, and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments and transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients.

• Competency in computerised data entry systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft programmes
