We are looking for a friendly. personable and efficient Shop Assistant/Service Engineer to join us in Failsworth.
This role offers variety and opportunity to develop a broad skill set to enhance your career. You will support the Independent
Living Centre in Failsworth. You will be able to employ technical aptitude to support people with disability and age-related
conditions to increase their independence and wellbeing through the issuing and maintenance of equipment. Working across service
depot, community, and retail environments, you will be a highly valued member of the business able to build strong networks in
multiple teams. A breadth of training will be provided to equip you to thrive in a growing sector. The expected outcome is to
achieve a high level of customer satisfaction that encourages growth and repeat business.
Job purpose:
To enable the Company to achieve the agreed contractual standard of service and excellent customer service by completing initial
training to gain essential product knowledge. To provide the customers of Millbrook Healthcare’s Independent Living with mobility
service and deliveries of specialist products.
On completion of initial training this will enable you to work out in the field delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing
customer equipment. The expectation is that once fully trained most jobs will be completed on a first-time fix basis.
To provide instore support and work with the team there to assist customers in purchasing the correct items, to book in and
arrange any deliveries and to host multiple professional bodies using the ILC.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Servicing and repairing mobility equipment in the field.
2. Be flexible to support the wider needs of the sales operation.
3. Providing exceptional customer service to people with a disability and those in caring or supporting roles.
4. Provide high quality, knowledgeable customer service that supports growth of private sales.
5. Delivering items purchased and setting up in the customer homes.
6. Servicing and repairing mobility items in the field with the aim of achieving a first time fix whenever possible.
About you:
1. Full UK driving licence.
2. Successful enhanced DBS check.
3. General workshop knowledge.
4. Basic electrical knowledge including 12v/24v D.C. systems.
5. Able to move and handle loads and equipment safely
Physical demands of the job:
1. Moving and handling of equipment and accessories following handling guidelines.
2. Standing at a bench to work.
3. Kneeling/crouching.
4. Working in confined workspace if the job necessitates (installing equipment in small toilet areas or bathrooms)
5. Use of ramps and any other agreed moving equipment.
