Shop Floor Operative

Overview:

The Watermill Press is a well-established business specialising in plain labelling. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our dynamic, growing team. This permanent position is ideally suited to someone who wants to advance their career in a busy and supportive workplace.

Your role is to carry out or oversee the following responsibilities and tasks: -

· Helping to maintain the business management systems in the warehouse and production to the highest standard

· Wrapping of finished goods in line with labelling guidance and chain of custody

· Quarantine and report any damaged or non-conforming stock to the Operations Manager

· Get out raw material for machines in line with the production plan to ensure smooth flow of stock and minimal machine down time.

· Packaging of finished goods as per customer specification

· Keep floors, machines and aisles clean and clear in line with the housekeeping rules of maintaining a clean and hygienic workplace.

· Return unused raw material to the warehouse correctly labelled to maintain the chain of custody

· Report any unidentified or nonconforming stock to the Operations Manager to ensure it is quarantined and investigated.

· Reporting of any environmental, health and safety or hygiene concerns to a manager for investigation.

· Ensuring compliance systems and processes that are created by external consultant are maintained to a high standard and company meets the standards to which it is certified.

Skills:
· Good communication skills

· FLT/VNA licence desirable but not essential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
