The Opportunity
Short Breaks delivers a service for children and young people (CYP) aged 5-18 with SEND. The Short Breaks service provides afterschool, weekend and school holiday respite for children and families.
Providing a meaningful and fun experience, opening opportunities to try new things in a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all. The CYP that attend have a variety of additional needs including learning difficulties, social & emotional, physical and medical.
Working with the Shaw Farm Centre Manager as our Saturday Coordinator, you will help to provide a safe and stimulating environment of the highest quality in our child-centred provision. If you have a passion for learning through play and supporting CYP with SEND, this could be the opportunity for you. You will be supporting the end goal of our Trust: to collaborate and build a successful community of mainstream schools and SEND provisions to ensure our CYP have the education they deserve.
Your Role
The attached job description will detail your role in full. But at a glance, some of the key fields you will be responsible for include:
To ensure the safeguarding of all CYP
To provide simple medical first aid as and when necessary
To provide care as required, which may include personal care and support for mental health and well-being.
To supervise, motivate and lead employees to ensure the activities are led safely and successfully to promote interaction.To implement planning and set up resources, with the help of employees
To report and record evidence of CYP progress and achievement and behaviour.
Your Experience
Our person specification attached will contain the full areas of skills and experience, but it is really important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have everything desirable, there are some essential features our appointee will need to have and these include:
Level 2 qualification or similar
Basic ICT skills
Experience with CYP in either formal or informal settings
Interviews: 05.02.2024
