Sharpak Bridgwater has been producing plastic packaging since 1963. We make a broad range of bespoke plastic food packaging solutions for our customers.

We cover the whole manufacturing process, from plastic pellets being received, made into plastic sheeting, formed into trays through a process called thermoforming before dispatching them to customers throughout Europe.

As a Shunter, you will be required to carry out the physical movement of goods into, through and out of the factory, keeping details of movements correctly updated.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

Health & Safety

• Carry out all tasks in conformance with the Safe Systems of Work.
• Check the truck you are using at the start of every shift, and update the check-sheet with any faults found.
• Adhere to health & safety, quality and hygiene arrangements in all work areas to ensure a safe, clean and tidy environment is maintained.

Shunting

• Bring in empty trailers to the loading yards, and remove loaded trailers to the trailer park

Loading

• Unload incoming deliveries and pack away into the warehouse.

Raw Materials

• Pack away raw materials into the warehouse
• Load raw materials as required for production, and deliver to extrusion.

General

• Ensure that all products are handled in an appropriate manner to maintain quality and customer satisfaction.
• Achieve and operate all day-to-day activities to meet contractual obligations.
• Operate fork-lift or Hi-Bay Truck
• Perform and record Daily Safety checks
• Keep work area clean and tidy
• Shunt trailers as required for loading

This list is not exhaustive and you will be required to carry out other duties within your trained capabilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
