Role overview
We are seeking a Simulation Performance Engineer to work in the ADAS/Autonomous/Sensor arena. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with and further push rFpro’s cutting edge simulation products and how they are applied to the biggest challenges in the automotive industry, such as autonomous driving and professional motorsport.
What will you be doing?
- Work with the Product and Development Teams (Software and Content) to understand and define the key performance requirements across the range of rFpro products and how they are applied to all industry sectors (motorsports, automotive, AI/AVs)
- Research and analyse existing real-world data sources that could be used to compare the performance of rFpro’s products against.
- Plan for and acquire new real-world data that allows for specific correlation of existing or new features of rFpro’s products.
- Plan and execute specific simulation runs to generate simulation data to compare against the real-world data sources.
- Perform detailed correlation analysis between simulated and real-world data.
What are we looking for?
- Engineering, Science or Mathematics based Degree (or similar)
- Technical capability to run complex simulations in a controlled and repeatable manner.
- Ability to assess multiple performance characteristics – and to take decisions on the next best course of action to explore further
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and accurately to internal teams to ensure performance results are understood.
- Experience with large volume data handling and key parameter extraction as well as an understanding of perception-based sensors, ADAS or Autonomous Driving systems is strongly desirable.
