Main Purpose of Role


To facilitate the lawful acquisition of communications data in response to crime, criminal activity and emergency incidents. Promote efficiency and good practice in ensuring only practical and lawful requirements for communications data are undertaken.

To advise and assist officers and relevant personnel in all aspects of investigations relating to communications data and to ensure that all matters comply with the most current legislation.
